South Mountain Hike

South Mountain, AZ

	On a fun Saturday morning my friends and I decided to take a hike in the Superstition mountains. We did a hike called the Peralta Trail. These are some desert marigolds looking up into the canyon.
	As we were hiking along I got this picture of a bee working on a New Mexico Thistle.
	The orange flower is the Desert Globe Mallow. Then the view of the Superstition mountains that just keep going and are very green this time of year.
	These are some of the rocks we hiked past.
	This pinnacle is the turnaround point of the hike. What a beautiful view of Weavers Needle.
	Sandi and Debbie knew exactly where they were going until the trail, that hundreds of people a day hike up and down, suddenly jumped 50 feet to the left and stranded in a bush up on top of the rocks.
	I think this is some sort of a Common Earless Lizard. My skills of identifying lizards are not so great. This guy was just sitting on the rock taking in some sun. I snapped this picture and then a really good one of an empty rock and the last bit of the tail.
