This is Wai'anapanaapa (Try saying it like WHY-a nah-pah nah-pah. Try not to hurt your lips.) beach it is a black sand beach just before we arrived in Hana. This is a great stop. |
Down on the beach the sand is really black. We also poked around and found some pools, some caves, and some old lava tubes you could walk into. |
This is the end of a lava tube. I don't know who these people are but they like to take pictures too. |
After our visit to the black sands we made it to Seven Sacred Pools. This is part of Haleakala National park too. If we hiked all the way down the volcano this is where we might come out. |
Well Dave and I came to SCUBA so we found the bottom of the 35 foot deep pool. It was very murky but we managed to find 2 pairs of sunglasses, 52 cents in coins, a black bandanna, a shell necklace, and fresh water shrimp the size of small lobsters. We did not find the missing Rolex we had hoped was in there. |
