| Here
are a few pictures I snapped, from the bus, as I took the 45 minute
ride to and from the hotel every day. |

Here is a STOP sign. Every sign is written in both languages. |
This is the speed limit along the freeway. this is 120 Kilometers per hour or about 65mph. All the free ways and highways I traveled on were very American and very new. They all had nice black asphalt and proper guard rails. Hardly a pot hole to be seen. This freeway is a full 6 lanes wide, three each way. |
All along our route there were miles and miles of power cables. These seemed a little low but were freshly painted. |
I is hard to appreciate the blowing sand in this picture, with out standing in it, wisps of sand are blowing across the access road. The power lines on the right side are only a quarter mile away. This storm lasted 2 days and was "Not to bad" to quote the locals. They say a bad storm can last a week or son and cuts visibility to less than 20 feet. |
Home sweet home. This is the front entrance to the Hilton. The secured driveways are on either side of this sign. |
On our ride we passed at least 3 oil refineries. This is one of them. It has a name on a road sign but I forgot to take notes. Most of these refineries are near the water, the Persian Gulf, and also have a shipping dock, |

One more picture of the slag flame and the tank farm. This country is about oil and sand. |
